Hey guys. Welcome to another weekly video.
This week we’re kicking off number one in the three part series, Reset Your Life. This is for you if you’re in a little bit of resistance about things that are happening — whether you don’t like your job, you don’t like where you live, you’re just dissatisfied or feeling disconnected. Right.
If you’re just feeling like I don’t know why am anymore; I don’t know what I want. I feel like I’m a little bit off track. This is just to press the reset button and reset your life.
I think a lot of times we don’t really give ourselves the opportunity to do that right.
We end up just spinning our wheels deeper and deeper, resisting the circumstances of our lives rather than just giving ourselves permission to take a deep breath, fully arrive exactly where we are and press the reset button.

This week for the Part 1 of Reset Your Life, we’re talking about changing your energy. Changing your energy is the most important part to hitting the reset button.
So here’s why — From an energetic standpoint we have the mind. So like the mental body right, in yoga it’s often called the mental body, and we have the emotional body.
And what happens is all experiences create within us emotions and when we don’t process our emotions because most people don’t really take the time to really feel and heal or a lot of times we’re so attached to situations in our lives and believing the stories about those situations that we aren’t fully processing the emotions around them.
So you’ve probably heard me talk about before like shadow work about how we don’t fully process past experiences in our lives like from when we were little. And this creates beliefs that influence how we interact with the world.
And as long as this energy this emotional energy is living inside of us we’re continually responding from those false beliefs that are embedded in our body through our emotions.
And so this happens as we get older too, right.
We have certain disappointments or failures or things didn’t turn out like we expected and we have disappointments that we don’t fully process because we’re in resistance to the situation.
And so we don’t process the emotions related to that situation which actually keep us stuck.
Another reason that we can get stuck is because we’ve received guidance to move forward in a certain aspect from our intuition but we don’t listen to that guidance and when we don’t listen to that guidance then you stay stuck because you’re resisting the flow of life really whether through doubts or fears or whatever.
And a lot of times there’s deeper reasons for those doubts and fears. We can talk about that and that’s really important to work through. But it’s just really important to purify your energy to reset your life.
There are a couple of ways that you can change your energy and reset your life.
I’ll give you three but know that any way that you’re really guided to — so you can just lean in and ask yourself like… Dear God angels universe, I desire.
I’m setting the intention to change my energy please show me the way. What is my next step?, And you’ll be guided to a specific practice or something to help you achieve your goal.
That’s what happens when you set intentions. You’re always guided. That is the law of the universe.
1. So the most powerful way that I know of to change your energy and reset your life is through kundalini yoga.
So Kundalini yoga is the yoga of awareness and it’s more meditative and rhythmic than a traditional yoga practice. It has a really powerful way of rewiring your nervous system and truly purifying your energy from the inside out which of course changes your life.
And the most powerful way to do yoga to reset your energy is to do a 40 day yoga practice.
I did this a few years ago and it totally changed my life by changing my energy. I was in a place where I was really resistant about life. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. I wasn’t happy with where I was living. I wasn’t happy with what I was doing career-wise and I was resisting all of it.
So I did a 40 day yoga practice and combined it with some other things — powerful reading — and it my energy, helped me reconnect to myself and really did help me reset my life.
It’s how I started my blog and how we’re all here today.
So a 40 day yoga practice. It takes time, right, to change your energy. It’s not something that happens overnight. It’s not like you go to one yoga class. You read one book and everything just changes.
These things have been built up over a long period of time and it’s important to dedicate yourself to a process that also forces you up against yourself when you want to give up because a lot of times during the process of change there’s moments where you’re mind says, “I’m not good enough I can’t do this. This is stupid. It’s not working. This is ridiculous.”.
And you have to, in those moments, recognize that voice as fear, as something that is trying to keep you stuck in the limited patterns.
As the voice of resistance that is keeping you from changing things, that is keeping you from resisting your reality which is the thing that is creating this feeling of stuckness or unhappiness or disconnection.
So it’s really important to commit to something that is a long period of time and just honor that commitment, right, and keep going to reset your life.
And when you hear that your voice you know — this is the process of me changing. This is the process of me breaking patterns because the pattern of you running away when things get hard or retreating when you don’t like what’s happening — It’s a weakness, right.
So just like your muscles must break down as they’re gaining strength.
The resistance in you must break down in order for your true self to come through again. And a 40-day yoga practice is a really powerful way of hitting up against that resistance and choosing to move beyond it and choosing to reset the patterns in your life that are holding you hostage and holding you back from realizing your potential and your greatness.
So of course that’s the most powerful way of doing, of changing your energy to reset your life.
And I do have a 40-day yoga practice, it’s a course called The Big Shift, that guides you through this exact same process. And of course you get the group support to guide you through the whole way so that there is people cheering you on and you’re all going through it together. It only happens once a year, and it’s going to be opening in just a few weeks. On February 22nd.
But I want to give you two other ways to really reset your energy just in case that you don’t really vibe with doing yoga and you want to do something else to reset your life.
2. The second way that I would say is really dancing, right. (every day for 40 days.)
Dancing and moving. And again if you want to make it a challenge for yourself do something every day for 30 days or 40 days. In Kundalini yoga it’s said that it takes 40 days to create a new habit.
And you know there’s all kinds of scientific studies that say it takes X amount of days whatever but the broader point, the broader intention is that it takes time to reset your life.
So set yourself a timeline of 30 days or 40 days and make a commitment to do something every day whether that’s dancing, right dancing is really powerful for moving the energy through your body.
For women it helps us reconnect to our natural feminine essence especially moving in circles, so much of life and suffering comes from like linear and getting caught in linear thinking.
Our bodies are stuck in lines and so moving in circles, recirculating our energy, it just frees our heart, frees our bodies and frees our minds. So dancing could be a really powerful way of doing that.
Of course I think that yoga is especially powerful but dancing could do it.
3. And meditating I would say that meditating is another.
Is a third way of doing this. You know just sitting with your emotions every day. There’s Kundalini Yoga meditations that are separate from the kriya practices, movement practices.
But you could just look on YouTube here for a — I’m sorry I don’t have one to recommend — but for a kundalini yoga meditation, or you could just do a regular meditation. You could do the meditation on my website and sit with your emotions every day for 30 days to reset your life.
If you have been disconnected from your heart, disconnected from your emotions, what a beautiful practice. Just meditate for 30 or 40 days and set that little challenge for yourself because it’s that commitment to that’s really going to change your life.
Our lives are the sum of our patterns and habits.
And as we’re changing our energy we’re also of course changing our habits. We’re becoming the type of people who don’t give up or become the type of people who aren’t held back by our limitations.
We’re becoming stronger than our resistance. So it’s very much about awakening your inner power, your inner strength and developing the fortitude to persevere despite all the odds and despite the smaller mind that’s telling you — No it’s OK just give up, you know keep resisting. That’s the secret to change. No no no.
The secret to change is not resisting where you are.
The secret to change is accepting where you are, doing that self inner work to understand why you got there in the first place, and then connecting to yourself and tuning into the next step — that’s to really change things and shift things in a foundational level, not superficial change but deep deep lasting change.
So over the next two weeks we’re going to be going deeper into this, much deeper into this.
We’re going to be going through the other factors and how to really reset your life to making these foundational changes because you can’t change your life, you can’t change your mind, if you have stuck unprocessed emotions or energy in your body.
This is the most important stuff.
