In this post, you’re going to learn my simple, powerful technique to release negative emotions.
I’d like to begin by helping you shift your relationship to so-called negative emotions first, and mention that no emotion is negative.
First, all pain is a call for love. Emotional pain arises from a limited perspective often based on an emotional wound, not paying attention to your true needs or desires, or simply repressed pain that you wished would go away and so never processed.
To quickly and easily release negative emotions requires a willingness to go within, to feel the pain that’s arising, and sit with it until it moves through you. It WILL move through. Emotions are energy in motion, and that’s what they’re designed to do.
The benefit to this practice is that entering your pain leads to immense personal freedom, connecting to your true self and intuition, and even discovering your life purpose because purpose and passion are tied directly to pain. We discover these things through sitting with the negative emotions and transcending them.

4 Steps To Quickly and Easily Release Negative Emotions
Take a deep breath.
When painful emotions arise, it’s easy to get swept away in the thoughts around that emotion. Thoughts and feelings are separate, and the process I teach is founded on separating the two, feeling and healing the emotion, and then sorting through your thoughts once the intensity of the emotion has passed.
Taking a breath helps you center into the actual feeling, getting into your body to FEEL, instead of intellectualize about the emotion.
This is really important because to fully feel and heal is a mostly subconscious process. Thinking too much slows down the process because it means you get tied to the story around that emotion.
When you feel to heal and not to follow your thoughts around the negative emotion, this allows your energy body to process the emotion just like your stomach digests food.
This is ultimately a process of getting out of the body intelligence’s way so it can do its thing. When you obsess over your thoughts, again, this slows down the process.
Once you release the emotion, you’ll often have insights related to the peace and clarity you feel. There’s often not a whole lot of thinking that needs to be done to heal.
The truth is, you’re already healed and whole. It’s just a matter of loving your pain because it’s a part of you and once loved, it can integrate and your innate wholeness will feel restored.
2. Remember that feelings are both universal and temporary.
Part of the reason why people feel so afraid to feel is that they worry the feeling makes them flawed. It helps to remember, in the moment, that everyone feels pain sometimes. This will help you feel.
It can also be helpful to remember that this too shall pass. If you can, in the moment, remember that every breakdown leads to a breakthrough, that after every storm comes a rainbow, it will help you enter that storm.
After the storm comes peace and personal power, but if you repress the storm, it will never move through you.
Open up to your heart and allow yourself to feel.
3. Ask, “What is this feeling trying to tell me?”
All emotions have messages. Maybe you need to set a boundary or ask someone for help.
I talk about the meanings of specific emotions in my course, The Heart and Soul Sessions, but know that once you enter the emotion without judgment, it opens you up to hear its messages.
These messages are available to all of us. All we have to do is have faith that we are whole, even in our pain, and allow ourselves to feel and heal.
4. Feel the emotion to fully release it.
Unfortunately, it’s easy to get stuck in the releasing process and not fully move through the emotion. This is what blocks most people from success!
But you can learn the specific technique I use daily to release negative emotions, transcend suffering and find peace.
