The missing link to become who you want to be

It was just a few years ago.
I felt like a prisoner in my own life.
I hated where I lived, felt stalled in my career, and — having reached my early 30s — felt devastated that I hadn’t made more of myself or my life.
I felt like a failure. Can you relate to this difficulty of not knowing how to become who you want to be?
You’d think this would inspire me to action, but it just depressed me.
I couldn’t commit to anything. Felt paralyzed by doubt, fear and indecision. Looked everywhere for answers except the one place they could actually be found.
I wanted one thing: to take who I was and become who I wanted to be.
I knew I was smart, knew I was made for more, but my dreams felt so far away, I didn’t even know what they were anymore.
Finally, after quitting my corporate job I hated, I wrote freelance, fulfilling an old dream.
But after achieving a big goal — an article I wrote appeared on the front page of a glossy magazine — my insides felt empty.
Nothing. This still wasn’t it. My passion. My purpose. My potential. Unfulfilled.
At this point, it would have been easy to stop believing in better possibilities.
To think that maybe my dreams were delusions of grandeur, after all. That wild success and amazing lives were for other people, not for me.
But for some reason, I kept believing. I knew my heart held beautiful words I’d not yet expressed.
I knew life had gorgeous moments to surprise me with.
I knew anything was possible. As long as you’re breathing, you still have the chance to become who you want to be.
The dream stayed alive, to actually live out the big dreams contained in my heart, to believe in myself enough to just go for it.
But how? Maybe you can relate.
How to become who you want to be.
Maybe you long for more, to become who you want to be, but feel overwhelmed and have no idea how to get it, or even clarity on exactly what it is you want.
The answers to these questions all lie within. It’s not that life will change for you. You’re smart. You know that these times of difficulty are times for you to rise up.
But you have to rise up in the right way. The way that’s meant for your soul.
It’s easy to rise up with fire, anger and resistance, wielding a baseball bat and smashing through brick walls.
That’s the opposite of ease and flow. It doesn’t feel good. It’s not how it’s meant to be.
There’s another way, a middle path between overheated fury and the weakness of doubt, fear and indecision.
A path fueled by excitement and inspired ideas. Where your soul, your true self, lovingly and knowingly guides your every move.
And best of all — you trust yourself enough to listen.
^^^ That is everything right there, and why you could fail to become who you want to be.
This is the path of the ambitious, spiritual person. The one who deeply desires to honor her soul without sacrificing her desires for success, crazy love, and abundance.
It’s not crazy to want big things. It’s crazy to let anything stop you from creating the life your heart calls for.
Listening to your inner guidance and intuition is how to take who you are and become who you want to be.
Back to the story — by this time, my spirituality was deepening. I was meditating, feeling my feelings, and tuning into my soul.
Finally, my soul spoke.
I didn’t like what it said.
It took me a long time to listen.
The voice said, “accept your life, take advantage of the opportunities before you, and everything will change.”
This was the one of the hardest things I ever had to do.
Let go.
But it changed everything.
I went from feeling paralyzed in life, wondering when my turn would come, to chasing my dreams, rekindling my long-lost sense of adventure and fun, and believing in my own goodness, my worthiness to receive all that I longed for.
I stopped looking for someone to show me a path and began to carve my own. For the first time in a long time, my life felt like me. The real me.
To become who I want to be, I don't try to use my intuition. I rely on it. Click To Tweet
I want you to have an unshakeable connection to your inner guidance and intuition, too.
How would it change your life to not only hear your inner voice, but believe in yourself enough to listen?
What would it mean to you to stop allowing fear (or outside judgment and expectation) to make you small and instead rise up to declare that you deserve to experience the longings in your heart?
It’s your sacred responsibility to realize the dreams within you. To become who you want to be.
Unfortunately, many people block themselves from receiving the all-important messages from their intuition. That’s why so many people have trouble hearing their inner voice.
Are you you interested in learning a reliable way to hear your inner wisdom and release the things blocking your way? If so, great because I have some powerful tips coming to you tomorrow!

Hi Suzanne, I loved your article, thank you. I’ve been connecting with & reading energy since I was little. Never understood why I could do this or what the purpose of it was, until recently. A few years ago I was drawn to start studying energy healing, but still I rejected my path as I didn’t believe in myself. Didn’t think I could do it or that I would be any good at it. Recently though I went back to it & decided the time is now!!! I’m letting go, I’m following my heart & I’ve been totally amazed by the universe & how it has brought people into my life for this purpose. I love how it feels, I love being able to help people heal themselves. I’m loving the path I’m on.Thank you again for your inspiration. Hayley
What an amazing experience Hayley! I love how you found the courage to follow your heart and the universe showered you with synchronicities to help you along your journey! Definitely a powerful sign of being on the right path. How rewarding! Thank you for sharing your story! <3
This post really resonated with me! The feeling that you are meant for more, but being unable to figure out what and how? Where to start? Who can help me? Then, the doubts of uncertainty on your life path and purpose start to set in. At that point you start to question and seek truth. Really learning and using my Divine abilities to tap in and receive guidance and and having the faith to trust and take action. Really going in and learning how interpret the messages and signs of intuition. Learning to trust my intuition, my higher self and have the confidence to take action. Knowing that if the Universe gives me the vision it’s my job to take the step and have faith the the Universe will always provide and I will walk in my life purpose and fulfilled. Thanks you for sharing your enlightenment!
Yes! Love these words so much Kamesha! Love to hear how you’re tuning in and trusting enough to take the steps that you’re called to, and trusting that the vision in your heart is yours to make real! What an amazing journey of learning to believe in yourself! I can relate to this so much. Thank you for sharing your story! <3
I have been very aware of my intuition for many years now but my first real realization of it was one of disregard. Twice actually, I had an intense feeling of dread surrounding the decision as it was made which is difficult to see @ the time because it was not realized until a couple of years later. I had the knowledge but ignored it which effected or lives in a very negative way. I now reflect upon my decisions, testing my intuition before deciding anything!
Like many others I’ve been looking for someone else to provide me with the knowledge, time, experience to achieve my goals…. I know now that “the problem isn’t the problem, it’s your thoughts around the problem that give you troubles” Positivity, Carpe Diem, Namaste whatever you want to call it…. Believe and all will be well!!
Beautiful Mandy! Happy to hear it sounds like you have a rewarding relationship with your inner voice! That’s amazing. Thank you for sharing your story! <3
Hi
Thank you for the amazing post that was like a message sent for me. My turmoil is my current career life and feeling unhappy for the last 18 years even after lived in different countries and doing the same job. Trust me, I’m still lost. I’ve always knew that there was such a thing as intuition. I’m still struggling to find the answers from within me in regards to my career. Not sure how to use my intuition for guidance as I thought I did with changing my employers at this current time of my life. But still not happy as anxiety creeps in even a day before I go to work. I’m trying to pursue another study in order to change jobs in a couple of years but seem to feel overwhelming with the studying and juggling work life and home life as a mother and wife. I thought I followed my intuition. Now I’m not so sure.
Hi Ann,
Thank you for commenting. I’m sorry to hear that you’re not feeling happy. It’s a give and take because happiness for sure comes from within. We can change outside things and they do influence how we feel, but we can be happy regardless of outside circumstances.
A question that I like to ask myself when I feel confused about life is — “what is life asking of me?” A lot of people think that intuition is the same as following your heart, and it’s really not. Your heart is wild and loves to run, and your logic is more fear-based and wants to stay.
Your intuition is the highest part of you that includes both. It’s a layer deeper. Sometimes it guides you into soul lessons. It sounds like you have a soul lesson to learn here.
Some good questions to ask yourself might be — What are your true soul needs? How can you meet them in the present, with your life exactly how it is? I would also really connect with your anxiety and ask what the source is, going a layer deeper than your job.
Because from your comment, and forgive me if I’m wrong, it sounds like there’s a recurring pattern. And with recurring patterns in life, it’s important to look within and see how we’re causing it. No judgment, because I do it all the time, too.
But this could be a really empowering time of your life where you dig deep within and find peace with who you are and where you are. From this place of total acceptance, you can create a life not on resistance and what you don’t want, but based on the flow of full acceptance and what you do want.
I hope that helps! Also, you may really enjoy my program The Big Shift when it runs next, later this year or early next. It goes really deep and will help you find peace.
Sending you lots of love,
Suzanne
